I draw the letterforms by hand, scale them to the wall, and paint them in place. The wall decides the design as much as the brief does, so I measure the room before I sketch anything.

    Hand-painted Scripture Wall

    Private residence, Carlton Landing, Oklahoma

    A full-height hallway wall, narrow enough that no one can stand back and read it all at once, and close to thirteen feet across. I drew the type from my own handwriting, sized the layout to the wall, and painted over 480 characters by hand.

    My role: I developed the typographic concept, refined the full-scale layout and spacing, planned the transfer, and painted the wall.

    40th Anniversary Storytelling Mural

    River Gate Church · 9 x 14 ft lobby mural, October 2023

    River Gate Church turned 40 and wanted the lobby to say something to people before anyone greeted them. I painted a train coming through the river gates, carrying the founders' vision into the room the congregation walks through every week.
